Product Description

Features

Notes for use of the Hacker

  • To use this with a stand alone PARIS board (ie no motors ESC connected) where 5v power will flow from your USB to the PARIS  -  
    1. Disconnect any ESC control leads, disconnect video in/out wires and any uBEC (temporarily while re-coding iOSD or loading fonts)
    2. unplugg the the serial 3 from paris & connect to this Sirius Hacker uart 4 pin molex -> then connect the USB micro to the Hacker
    3. The PARIS MEGA will power up - start and run the iOSD GUI normally
    4. To upload a new sketch file - Start Arduino 1.0.5 ; select BOARD = ProMini 5v 16Mhz 328 ;

            2. Press and hold down the interrupt button - then Press UPLOAD ;  Arduino will say compiling for 2 secs - then will say "uploading" - as soon as you see "uploading" - release the button - now you will both the green and red LED flickering on the iOSD Hacker.  Once completed Arduino 1.0.5 will say DONE
            3. For experts  Uploading Fonts - we use a similar method  - inside the GUI first select the custom fonts file PATH (if you dont know exactly what your doing then STOP HERE - dont try it - the fonts are critical to operation and if you mess it up or load the wrong fonts nothing will work)  Then hold the button down with one hand for 3 secs, rease the button and immediately press UPLOAD FONT.  now you will both the green and red LED flickering on the iOSD Hacker.  the numbers will spool up slowly to 256 - job done.
    5. to use GUI with Motors and ESC connected, you must remove props - and then connect main LiPo to power the ESC/s motors etc - then connect USB as above

Example of other uses for FTDI->USB hacker board - here below is our small project - the CJMCU Quad which we have coded for BF BetaFlight and using a FrSky VD5M receiver wired for 5 Channels including Aux 1 - as CJMCU has no USB - we used the PARIS Hacker FTDi to connect and tune the CJMCU - then disconnect it via a 4-pins molex for flying
