Product Description

The FrSky VD5M is a 2g nano receiver optimised for skilled miniature modellers and small Drones like CJMCU - suits pilots who can solder/ fit their own nano wires to the 5Ch - Works with TARANIS internal RF set to D8 mode  - or for other radios like 9X Requires a DJT module in the back of your Radio (9x, JR) - you will get 5Ch (nil telemetry) so they are perfect for 4Ch drones and the 5th channel for mode selection -  for INDOOR FPV ops or NANO Park flier FPV ops - for pilots using fixed wing they are targeted to 1.8 or 2.2g servos - Australian AU stock.

  • Includes 4 x 1.25mm Molex plugs and connectors (for DIY assembly/cripming using your own nano wires - wires not included)
  • Binding Cable - included (connect Ch1->Ch5 for V8 mode) or (connect Ch2 -> Ch5 for D Mode) - after binding use 5th plug if needed

NOTE - if you plan to de-pin the VD5M - be sure to bind it first with the jumper bind cable between 2->5 (D-Mode) - see below BINDING

 

Excludes

  • Excludes wires for servo - the signal wire goes inboard - GND at the edge and 5.0v in the centre of at least one channel  - suggest  re-harvest other wires from electronic projects or purchase an 8 wire cable here and strip out the 32awg wires
    Excludes and Requires a DJT module HERE
  • Excludes binding - BINDING VD5M = for TARANIS set the model to D8 Mode internal RF - page 2 - scroll down to BIND press BIND (taranis beeps) - then set the jumper BIND cable between pins 2->5 on the VD5M ; power Rx up - the Rx LED will go from solid red to blinking RED once bound ; press BIND again to exit bindon TARANIS . Power Down Tx/Rx and remove BInd cable from VD5M - power on again VD5M will have a GREEN LED solid on Rx;  
  • for 9X Tx with a DJT module - Turn Tx on first while holding the F/S button down on the DJT module on the back - Red LED on DJT module flashes - setup a new model - and decide D or V8 mode then fit the bind cable (included) accordingly to the pins above - with the bind cable in place - power the VD5M Rx - the Rx LED will now flash when bound - Turn off Tx and Rx. Remove bind cable - re-power Tx & Rx and check Rx RED LED is on steady red = bound
  • can also be used with older modules if you have one like DFT, DJT, DHT, DHT-U in either V8 "V" mode  _SW1 =on ; SW2 = off  ;; or "D" modes SW1=off ; SW2 = on     - dip switch on rear to be set 

Example of other uses for the small VD5M Receiver for 200-300m indoors - or park flying -  here below is our small project - the CJMCU Quad which we have coded for BF BetaFlight and using a FrSky VD5M receiver wired for 5 Channels including Aux 1 - as CJMCU has no USB - we used the PARIS Hacker FTDi to connect and tune the CJMCU - then disconnect it via a 4-pins molex for flying
