Product Description

Hobbywing® 3 Amps switching uBECS  deliver the full rated 5.2v (or 6.0v) at continuos amperage at 95% efficiency on every flight with minimal RF noise.  Do confuse this uBEC with the cheaper HK uBECS. Features the latest components and capacitors.   Whilst it's not essential to run a separate uBEC on a PARIS without servos - it does provide an independant power supply allowing the Noise bridge on the PARIS to be kept open and the ESC and Servo noise isolated form the CPU and sensors - a small price to pay for an independant power supply which allows the ESCs to stay cool and do there core function of flying/controlling the Muliticopter.

NOTES : 

  • Make sure to solder all wires with Flux Paste (Not flux core solder) - a poor connection or dry joint will reduce performance
  • Use a power meter to ensure you are not overloading the ESC at WOT (full throttle for the prop) - ESC works hardest at mid throttle - so it's useless to think that if you don't fly full throttle you won't overheat the MOSFET because you are not using all the amps - completely opposite - the ESC will overheat if the kv of the motor is too high for the props used.  You must do a WOT check and make SURE at full throttle the MAX amps are XXamps or less !!!!!
  • WARNINGS - For MultiCopters - However you MUST be aware that uBECs can conflict with other LDO devices - for example two voltage regulators may work well together ; or they may CONFLICT and not work together  - check first - no guarantees can be given - normal steps  are to use an alternative method to power the device.  
  • Also be aware if you connect USB and a uBEC at the same time ( your multicopter uses a uBEC and you connect it to a PC live without pulling the uBEC out first) - and the BUS/jumper is joined - the PC/Mac may shut down if it detects 5.3v or disconnect its USB power bus.
